a load of pictures…

Since I’ve been completely absent from the blogging community for 2 months now, I have tons of pictures to share. I won’t bore you with all of the hundreds I’ve taken, but I WILL put up some highlight pictures for you!

We had a snow day in late March. It shows about once every 6 years down here. The girls had never seen snow before!

Poor Abby lost 5 teeth in the front of her mouth within like 2.5 weeks. She is getting some “grown up” teeth now, but for a while she had trouble eating. LOL!

Abby started her 3rd season of soccer. She loves it but said she wants to do gymnastics in the fall instead.

Abby had her good friend Savannah over for a spend-the-night-party several weeks ago. Girls will be girls… they had a FABULOUS time!

We went to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge for Spring Brea last week and we had a BLAST! The girls got to “swim” in the hot tub and we had a creek and waterfall in our very own backyard! YAY!

After we left the mountains, we headed over to Lake Wylie to my Dad’s house for Easter. Anne, the girls and I dyed Easter eggs one afternoon. Messy, but OH SO FUN! Look at this cute picture of the girls all dressed up for church with their GaGa and Anne. So cute!

My sweet babies (acting like they like each other)!

Well, there’s our life for the past 2 months… in a nutshell. LOL! I’ll try to stay current now that I’m back in the blogging spirit…

cocka-doodle-doo….

Maggie is running around the house naked doing the chicken dance.

Constant entertainment (amongst moments of pure insanity)…

motherhood BREEDS insanity…

Oh
My
Goodness…

I seriously think I am about to lose my mind tonight. The girls are driving me insane! I’ve eaten every jelly bean in the house (I obviously eat when I’m stressed-out)! My throat hurts I’ve been hollering so much! I have a mountain of stuff to do (laundry, toys everywhere, dishes to clean), yet I sit here DECOMPRESSING…

I’ve been putting them to bed for an hour now!!!!!
I want to peepee.    Maggie, you just went 5 minutes ago.
I want a blankie.    Abby, you just said you were hot.
I can’t find my bear. Abby, it’s right there under your arm.
I need short sleeves.    Abby, you JUST said you were cold and wanted a blankie.
Can we sing a song?    Maggie, we just sang 6 songs.
I need to poopoo.    Maggie, you were JUST on the potty 30 seconds ago. What were you doing?
My head feels funny.    Abby, that’s probably b/c you’ve been screaming so much!

Seriously, I’m going to take a que from Shannie here… do you think if I PAID a band of Gypsies, they would take them? They’d probably be back before dawn. I think a deaf, blind, mute would run away screaming at the sight of the girls tonight…

Ok, now I’m off to eat some ice cream.     Hey, I told you… stress = food!

Happy number 3!

Yesterday morning I woke Maggie up to tell her “Happy Birthday” and when she opened her eyes, she looked at me and smiled and said, “Mommy, today is my Happy Birthday party!”  Yes baby, today is the day!

We hadn’t been up long when she spied her gifts and just HAD to open them. I had given her the kitchen set the night before (her big gift that couldn’t be hidden), so we proceeded to open the rest of her gifts. She got some clothes and a purse and the new Leap Frog Tag system and several books. It’s SO NEAT and she LOVES it.

After Ga-ga and Anne got here (my Dad and stepmom), we went to Maggie’s birthday party at Hollywood Connection. It’s a neat kids’ paradise complete with party rooms, rides, a movie theater, skating rink, put put and so much more. Well, Maggie wanted her party in the Coca Cola room which has igloos, a slide, a ball pit and the Coke polar bears. It’s so cute and we took a ton of pictures, but my camera died half-way through the party and I’m waiting on Dad’s pictures to be sent to me tonight before I can post a bunch of pictures in here. For now, we’ll have to make do with these 2…

Here’s Abby, Avery and Maggie climbing on one of the igloos in the party room.

Ok, well I guess I’ll edit this post later with more pictures. Be patient – let’s hope Dad got some decent ones…

beauty day…

Before Maggie’s birthday party yesterday, I decided to give her and Abby a manicure and pedicure Friday night. We went to Sally and bought some funky nail polishes and some flower nail tattoos (like this) and went to town – just having a great ‘ol time.

Maggie chose purple with flowers…

Abby chose blue with flowers…

Surprisingly, it’s still on their nails – 2 days later. They must REALLY like these flowers. I may have to buy them more often… if it means less of a chance that they’ll pick the nail polish off the next day.

happy birthday big girl…

3 years ago yesterday, I became a mother for the 2nd time and Abby became a big sister. 3 years ago yesterday, Margaret Kathleen Slade came into our lives.

Photobucket

Maggie, thank you for being the sweet considerate little girl that you are. Thank you for making Abby a big sister. Thank you for making me a better Mom. Thank you for being my sweet baby… the world would not be as wonderful a place if you were not in it.

Happy 3rd birthday princess.
